Ladner Medical & Allied Clinic - Pain Free Health Group

After arriving this morning to a "No Walk-Ins" sign I did enter just to ask if the practice was no longer taking walk ins at all or if the walk ins are limited to certain days. The woman at the desk would not let me get a word in edgewise and refused to even listen to a question, let alone give me a straight answer. She asserted that they were not accepting walk ins and when I mentioned that on the sign outside states that they were a walk in clinic she just told me that I walked passed a bunch of signs that said otherwise. I... am flabbergasted. I can only assume the attitude is from getting 100's of inquiries a day from stressed people worried about their health while not having a family doctor available but the level to which she escalated the interaction was insane. Looking at recent reviews this is clearly not a new problem. It would save everyone a little bit of misery if the clinic updated their communications. The phone system when you call in simply states that walk-ins should visit the clinic - but if there was more information about there being very limited walk-in time that fills fast in the morning it would prevent this experience from happing to others. Even the Denning Health Group website has nothing indicate the limited capacity for walk ins. I tried my best to be informed before going but none of the resources provided by this clinic were current or accurate. Its clearly a sign of a bigger problem with regards to the health care system in British Columbia but I can't think of a more dehumanizing way to talk to someone with a concern for their health. Do better.

Accidentally called them as they and practice I’m with have similar names. Woman who answered the phone was extremely rude..Instead of just being polite and saying you have the wrong practice she instead rudely exclaims “ I DON’T KNOW WHO THAT IS THINK YOU HAVE WRONG PLACE.” And hung up.

Thank you for responding and updating your website. --- Not a walk in clinic (Jan 15 2024). I was one of 10 people waiting outside Monday at 825am (-10C) and receptionist opens door, sees our line and explains she has no walk-ins today. Surprising because there are 3 doctors on the website schedule. Why the negative review? They need to update their website, google maps profile, and signage to make it very clear they don’t offer walkins. Don’t encourage people to waste their time with unclear messaging, just update your website.

I’ve been a family patient of Dr. Li for around 6 years, and I have had nothing but positive experiences with this clinic. Dr. Li is patient, professional, knowledgeable, and receptive to all my concerns. She provides exceptional care, remembering important details I’ve mentioned in previous visits, thoroughly explaining steps for treatment, answering questions in detail, and providing plenty of options to find something that works well for me. She has always been prompt and on time. Visits with Dr. Li are often quick, but she never leaves questions unanswered. The MOAs are friendly, respectful, hardworking, and amazing. It is always a pleasure to communicate with Jill! She is welcoming, kind, and has a great sense of humour. Ladner Centre Medical is a busy clinic and Jill does an excellent job of balancing responsibilities and accommodating patients’ needs. When booking, phone lines can be busy depending on the time of day. I have had to wait up to an hour to speak to someone. This is rare, though, and most times I’m able to get through within 10 minutes. In the past I encountered situations where the phone was not answered during operational hours, but I haven’t had this experience in the past year. I am incredibly grateful to be a patient at this clinic. Receiving adequate health care in BC has gotten very difficult, so to have such a great doctor is a privilege.

I can not begin to express how incredibly lucky I feel to have this clinic in lander. Jill has been so amazing and accommodating, always going above and beyond to schedule me in with the always busy and incredible Dr Turnball. I absolutely won the lottery having Dr Turnball all these years. Thank you both for your amazing care 🫶
